The need to be on top - eBay.
Some people are stupid. They want an item on eBay so bad that they have the constant urge to be the highest bidder - even when it means they bid so much that they take the price to absurd heights.
For example, if they bid on an item which has 4 days to run and then someone outbids them, both bidders will continue to outbid eachother in a vicious cycle which will take the price stupendously high.
They don’t realise that if they just bid once, right near to the end of the auction, they are just as likely to win the item and get it for less, too. Especially for people with a budget.
Unfortunately for me, these control freaks also bid on items I want, and even though I always win the auctions (because I’m cool like that), I end up paying sometimes over £100 more than I need to just because two people were battling it out to be on top! (You can check the bid history to find out) It’s frustrating!
I just won a nice new powerful PC by the way. Maybe this will be the start of something..
